June 17, 2013 - The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia (CIC-DC) today announced that its Fall Seminar will focus on TRIA captives. The event is scheduled for October 8, 2013 in Washington, DC.
Captive insurance companies play an important role today in providing for terrorism-related coverage for companies in various industries and geographic locations. Additional corporate risks can also be covered through TRIA captives so they can be versatile ART programs as well. But TRIA captives will no longer be a self-insurance option unless Congress takes action to re-authorize the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program Re-Authorization Act of 2007 (TRIPRA).

Melissa Hancock Elected as CIC-DC President
December 14, 2012 – The Captive Insurance Council of the District of Columbia, Inc. (CIC-DC) today announced that Melissa Hancock has been elected as president of the association effective January 1, 2013. Ms. Hancock has been a member of the CIC-DC board of directors and serves as regional manager for Strategic Risk Solutions.
In related news, Glenn Saslow, partner with Saslow, Lufkin & Buggy, LLP was re-elected to the CIC-DC board of directors.
